The final game for my AFL Coaching Career in season 2022 was run and won. And while I wait for the phone to ring and sort out a juicy deal with Netflix, let's see how we went one last time..
(This is the conclusion of my latest foray into the world of AFL Supercoach for 2022. While I didn't make the final series (read: Missed it by miles) it's still be quite the eventful year and you can work your way through it from start to finish with this kick off link - Bash for the Border - Let the horses decide our fate!)
When we last chatted all things footy, Coach Tyson had chimed in with some last hour advice and off the back of it, I made a few swaps including drafting in a couple of players who had never laced up the boots for me before. (They turned up for one game, played and then went on holidays really - it's a tough life). And while I wasn't that confident against the might of The Lethal Lobsters (Leigh's team) I was still hoping we'd turn the taps on and give the Lobsters a raging torrent to battle against. Which we did, kind of.
BREAKDOWN - THE FIVE
He's wearing the crown for a reason - The Bont put on an absolute clinic once again and scored 196 points. While that's not his greatest effort all year, it was very appreciated in this last barn burner.
The greatest defence - Hurn ramped up the battlements, with 137 points. with his second highest score of the season.
Never forget the Luggage - And how can we? He's been one of the most solid players in the Flavorless Flav's line up all year and this round was no different with 112 points.
Quiet achievers - Richards on 112 (glad I played him this round), Young on 110 but only 80 for Penders.
How about those rookies? - A less than impressive start (and only game too) for Wilkie 66 and Draper on 34. What's even more annoying is that I swear Tyson told me Marshall was out this week...only he wasn't. And he went on to romp it in from my bench for a jaw dropping 173 points....ugh.
IT WOULDN'T HAVE CHANGED MUCH BECAUSE..
I ended up a player short which hurt me (I think it was Ellis) but the Lobsters played too well. So there goes that lovely thought of one more hard fought victory before the Flavorless Flav's shut up shop. Oh well..
Those that made the finals will be busy number crunching and getting set to be the last coach standing. Everyone else (like myself) will be watching from the sidelines. Although we'll be having a Flavorless Flav's awards night pretty soon and this year we're going to break down the ten best players in this team for 2022.
After all that's said and done, will the Bont still be number 1? Stay tuned!
